The River & Watershed Section is offering a free training opportunity for City employees to become certified construction stormwater inspectors.
Training Details
Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Location: Transit Building, 2931 Rufina Street, Santa Fe, NM 87507
This full-day training includes an open-book exam, and participants who pass will become Qualified Persons authorized to conduct stormwater inspections of construction sites. The course provides essential knowledge to meet safety and regulatory requirements from the NMDOT, OSHA, and EPA.
All departments play an important role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations under the City of Santa Fe’s MS4 permit, which governs stormwater discharge to the waters of the United States through our storm drain system.
Training topics include (but are not limited to):
- Stormwater and non-stormwater discharges
- Permit coverage and CGP (Construction General Permit) forms
- Pollution prevention planning
- Control measures and corrective actions
- Sediment and stormwater controls
- Inspections and recordkeeping
